The stirrer is suited for cell growth applications, such as growing anchorage dependent cells on microcarriers, traditional suspension methods, and other applications requiring slow, controlled stirring. The soft start/soft stop speed control permits a gradual change in speed to minimize cell trauma. Continuous or intermittent stirring can also be selected. The S45725's low profile and wide operating temperature range allows it to be placed in incubators or on the bench, and the added electrical receptacle in the back allows you to operate four to six units using just one electrical outlet. The Thermolyne Cellgro 45725 allows for up to 5 vessels to be stirred simultaneously with a stirring range between 1 and 100 rpm. The large 15" x 15" stirring surface with grid design allows for easy and accurate vessel placement. A dual control timer with LCD allows for stirring intervals of 1-100 minutes and rest/off intervals of 10 to 1000 minutes. Dial setting provides speed adjustment. Rubber feet stabilize the unit. It is also a UL-listed device. In preparing this unit for sale, I replaced the interior drive belts with new matching components, and replaced the speed control dial with a new electronic component. This type of slow speed stirrer is great for use with flat bottom beakers or flasks up to 1 liter (or 5" diameter) in size.
