This device allows you to listen to and record sounds made by baby in-utero; in particular heartbeats. It is powered by one 9V battery, included. Off-on-volume dial on the front, plus large blue button you hold down to activate the amplifier. The opening on the back works like a stethoscope. That originally had a VERY soft foam covering, which is NOT essential; it works fine without it. There are jacks allowing two sets of headphones or earbuds to be used; ONE original headphone set is included. The earpieces also originally had soft foam covering, gone but work fine without it. Standard 1/8" stereo plug fits. Also included is an audio cable (may not be the exact one shown!) allowing any audio device to be connected to one of the jacks (recording device is NOT included, just the cable). Unisar also provided this under other branding, such as "First Sounds" and "Graco", sometimes with different accessories and design details, but same operation. The instruction book I include (copied onto CDR) is actually for the deluxe gift set, same Be'Be' model except that the deluxe gift set has a bunch of optional accessories which are NOT included here.
