Beckman Model TJ Refrigeration Unit This refrigeration unit measures 23" by 13.5" by 14.5". It has a knob on the front for controlling temperature with settings from 0 to 20; the meaning of these numbers is given in the manual, which is unfortunately not included. The unit takes 120 volt power, a power cord is included. The unit operates by taking air in through the front vent and exhausting it through the rear, cooling an air chamber in the upper portion of the unit that's accessible via two vents along the side. The vents are each 4" long by 0.5" tall with a rubber gasket around the edges; blowing air in through one vent causes cold air to come out the other. A pan inside the back of the unit collects condensation, but the plastic nozzle draining it has snapped off. This may require fixing but it shouldn't be too hard since the pan is a separate item not fixed to the outer casing of the unit, taking off the back panel allows it to be freely removed. The paint is slightly damaged in a few rusty spots on the outer casing but this appears to be purely cosmetic and the rust has been sanded off. How the unit was tested: When plugged in the power indicator light comes on, and when the knob is turned down from 20 the compressor kicks in. After a while the compressor stopped again, and the metal vanes inside the air chamber on top were cold to the touch.
