The jar is clear polycarbonate for shatter resistance and easy viewing of contents. The plate is strong and lightweight. The polypropylene valve accepts 1/4-inch (6.4 mm) interior diameter tubing, and has a Teflon plug to help control airflow and gently release the vacuum. The plate seals to the jar with an O-ring (included). Three rubber bumpers attach to the plate to help reduce slippage. The jar has an internal volume of .21 cubic feet. The jar is 4-3/8 inches/11 cm high and has an interior diameter of 7-7/8 inches/20 cm. The plate is 1-3/4 inches/44 mm high and has a diameter of 9-1/8 inches/232 mm. The valve can be used with 1/4-inch (6.4 mm) interior diameter tubing. The chamber weighs approximately 2.5 lb.
