Best Lock 8WTCM Temperature Control Module The Best Lock Temperature Control Module prevents a continuously energized electric lock from overheating. Full current is allowed initially to insure lock activation then voltage is decreased to maintain activation but prevent overheating. This device can be used with Best locks but also is compatible with other manufacturers' locks within its electrical ratings. This device may also be used with other applications such as large DC power contactor coils. The list price for this unit is over 80 dollars. These are new, packaged in sealed bubble wrap bags. We are selling them for less than half price with free shipping. Features: Completely sealed Wire leads for easy installation Through hole mounting Usable on other manufacturers' 24 VDC locks Specifications (from the Best catalog): Voltage output: 24 VDC Wire leads: 18 AWG stranded vinyl insulated wire, approx. 6” in length Voltage Output: 24 V DC minimum at one (1) amp maximum load for approx. one (1) second, then 15-17 VDC regulated output until input voltage interrupted Output Protection: Short circuit current limiting set at one (1) amp; output reverse hookup protection for internal circuitry only. Operating Temperature: -4 to 158 degrees F (-20 to 70 degrees C) Size: 2” x 2 1/8” x 1 3/8” Application: Temperature control module (TCM) that reduces the amount of current flow to a lockset for one second after energizing to lower temperature of lockset trim. May be required on an electrified mortise or cylindrical lockset if energized for an extended period of time. Model 8WTCM Best Lock
