Please note: if you need NRC exempt sources of a broad spectrum of isotopes for testing of your instruments, please contact me and I will gladly help you find what you need at the absolute best prices available. Now, the instrument: This will fit on any 1 inch 14/13 pin PMT mount, and is otherwise a complete unit containing the PMT and hermetically sealed crystal. Everything but the PMT/crystal/metal housing probe part here is for experimental purposes; including the completed divider and socket, preamp, and adjustable gain. What I'm saying is that I am selling the probe, the accessories are just a bonus. After a five month bizarre interaction with a gentleman from Russia who was furious because I didn't pre solder the wires on the socket mount and frame that I'm giving away as a courtesy, I am adding this disclaimer. The hermetically sealed tube and well scintillator is amazing. I use several as normal, regular probes on ESP-1 units, they work very well. 4 PI geometry is offered because of the well. The sample is placed in a pit and nearly all of the radiation coming off of it is picked up by the super sensitive detector! Awesome for a homemade spectrometer using the various open source projects, as it has thin well walls for better definition of lower energy radiation, and a solid cylindrical mass of that same crystal which enables detection of very high energy gamma when used in a 2pi (regular probe, pointed at source) application as well. PERFECT for home spectrometer applications. Several little bottles used for sampling will be sent with this probe so you can decide what you prefer. This is one of the rare occasions when I actually suggest purchasing a probe mount from another buyer, simply because they make them a lot better than I do! I do, however, include everything you need to create a custom probe in this package. The driver and preamp are included for experimental purposes only. The wires clipped from the socket have been left on as a reference for soldering. The wires are also left on the socket and resistor string for reference. Bottles which fit in the well of the probe are also included. This kit takes some light experimentation, or you could just connect a BNC cable to the socket. I will include a couple of different BNC connector types if you want them. Enjoy!
