BIG Coolant Feed Tappers improve hole and thread making by machining with the use of forced coolant through the coolant holes of cutting tools, thereby allowing operations at faster speeds and feeds. These Coolant Feed Holders minimize overheating and distortion of work pieces and allow cutting tools to provide faster metal removal by flushing the chips out of the holes. With reduced heat generation, tool life is greatly extended. The use of cutting tools with coolant through holes will improve productivity enormously, especially with deep hole operations that can be performed without the need of having coolant run through the expensive machining center spindle. These units supply coolant through the coolant holder of the taps themselves. As a result, threads are cleaner, sharper and have better finishes and accuracy. The compact design of the BIG Coolant Feed Holders assures that there will be a minimum of interference within the carousel of the machining center. In addition, these units can be orientated 360E to work in automatic tool changers. High alloy material (Chrome, Molybdenum, Manganese) hardened to 60RC assures rigidity and long life of tool holder. The taper shank is ground to .00003" surface finish and has 90% surface taper contact with spindle, which provides high accuracy, rigidity and longer life for the machine spindle and cutting tool. All surfaces except ground surfaces are coated with anti-rust treatment.
