BioSpec Products Tissue Tearor Homogenizer 985370-395 Prev Stop Play Next BioSpec Products Tissue Tearor Homogenizer 985370-395 Description: From the manufacturer: The Tissue-Tearor is a rotor/stator type tissue homogenizer which can rapidly homogenize, disrupt, and emulsify samples in 0.5 - 1000 ml of liquid. Complete homogenization of tissues (muscle, liver, breast tissue, etc.) is usually achieved in ten to thirty seconds. Little, if any, heat is produced during the process. During operation, the suspended tissue is drawn into the bottom centimeter of the homogenizer probe by an internal rotor turning at 32,000 rpm. The material is repeatedly cycled through narrow slits located in the outer part of the probe (not included) where it is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by high frequency, mechanical action. Rotor-stator type homogenizers will not disrupt most bacteria or yeast - an advantage if the objective is to isolate viable microorganisms from tissue or feces.
