DATALOGGING GAS DETECTOR The PhD Ultra portable gas detector monitors up to four atmospheric hazards simultaneously: oxygen, combustible gas, and up to two additional toxic gases.  "Smart Sensors" available include:    Oxygen (O2)  LEL - combustible gases  Carbon Monoxide   (CO)  Hydrogen Sulfide  (H2S)  Sulfur Dioxide  (SO2)  Dual purpose "CO Plus" Sensor for  simultaneously measuring CO & H2S   Hydrogen Cyanide  (HCN)    Nitric Oxide  (NO)    Nitrogen Dioxide  (NO2)    Ammonia  (NH3)    Chlorine  (Cl2)   The PhD Ultra automatically logs gas readings, temperature, location, user ID, and other key information at intervals set by the user from one second to one hour. A real-time clock allows the instrument to recordturn-on/turnoff times, calibration dates for each sensor, and even display custom "service due" messages!  Automatically download to a serial printer for direct generation of reports, or interface with a computer with the datalink software for more advanced report formats. All changes in setup parameters can be done easily through the instrument keypad or computer interface. PhD Ultra options include your choice of two snap-in battery packs. The NiCad pack option comes complete with a fast charger which allows recharging in less than  two hours. (Available in 110v, 220v, or 12v)The alkaline pack holds a set of three AA disposable batteries. Either pack provides up to 12 hours of continuous operation. The optional slip-on "Smart"  sample-draw pump is powered and electronically monitored directly by the instrument. PhD Ultra detectors are also available in the form of complete kits which include all standard accessories as well as calibration gas, regulator, and waterproof carrying case. True "One Button" operation: All procedures necessary for day-to-day operation, including automatic calibration adjustment, are controlled through the single On/Off "Mode" button.  Smart sensors: Biosystems' revolutionary new "Smart Sensors" are individually equipped with their own EEPROM memory chip. Besides storing information such as type, serial number and alarm settings, the chip also stores calibration adjustments and sensor-specific temperature compensation curves. Every time the sensor is calibrated it gets smarter, and accuracy is continuously improved.  Automatic record keeping: The PhD Ultra logs data automatically, making record keeping a snap. The instrument remembers (logs) gas readings, temperature, location, user ID, and other important information.  Interchangeable NiCad and disposable alkaline battery packs: PhD Ultra batteries are housed in two types of snap-in battery packs. Either pack provides up to 12 hours of continuous operation. The NiCad pack can be recharged while installed in the PhD Ultra, or may be removed for separate recharging in the PhD Ultra "Datadock" fast charger.  Automatic calibration adjustment: "One Button Auto Cal" is available any time while in normal operation. All you have to do is press the "Mode" button, attach the adaptor, and flow gas to the sensors. All the adjustments are made automatically.  Small package; rugged design: The PhD Ultra is completely sealed against the elements. The rugged steel-filled polycarbonate case is designed to minimize the effects of radio frequency interference.  Automatic setup: Instrument setup is automatic; just plug in the new sensor. The PhD Ultra reviews all the information stored on the sensor chip, notes the changes, displays the correct readings, and assigns the proper alarms.  Multi-sensor capability: One to four sensors: O2, LEL, and up to two toxic sensors: CO, H2S, S02,Cl2, NH3, HCN, NO2 and NO, or Biosystems' dual purpose "CO Plus" sensor for the simultaneous measurement of both CO and H2S. Sample draw options: Every unit comes complete with a manual sample draw kit. The optional continuous sample pump draws power directly from the PhD Ultra and operates whenever the instrument is turned on. The PhD Ultra directly monitors the pump for proper operation.
