Book - When Logging was Logging, Big Timber in Washington by Appelo Archives Center.  Incredibly researched book deals with the history of logging in southwest Washington state.  This is a hardcover book with a dust jacket measuring 9" x 11 1/2".  176 pages.  Starts from the beginning when logging was done on the rails with articulated Baldwins, Mallets, Shay's, both standard and narrow gauge.  Lots of action along the rivers of Washington.  Quite a number of photos with CAT's and various yarders.  Quite a number of truck photos on and off the road with Kenworth, Autocar and Mack renominating.  Personal histories of growing up in the area.  Great photos of "hayrack booms", "A-frame", etc.  Also photos of the various crews on the job.  Very comprehensive and well researched book.  One of the best I've ever seen on this subject.
