Prefer Paypal payment Installation Instructions 1.0 Description The BATB-40 Battery Box (Figure 1) houses two 12 V sealed, lead-acid batteries, supplying up to 40 Ah of power for control panels. The BATB-40 can house two additional batteries by attaching the optional BATB-SHELF, allowing the BATB-40 to house four batteries. 2.0 Installation 2.1 Mounting the Battery Box 1. Select a suitable mounting location sufficient to support the weight of the battery box and batteries. 2. Remove the door from the battery box by lifting the door up and off the hinges. 3. On the mounting surface, mark the location of the three mounting holes at the top of the battery box. 4. Partially drill the marked holes in the mounting surface. 5. Using hardware that supports the combined weight of the box and a maximum of four batteries, approximately 140 lb (63.5 kg), attach the battery box to the mounting surface. • Use lag bolts when mounting the battery box to wooden studs. • Use concrete anchors when mounting the battery box to cement. • Do not mount the battery box to metal studs. 6. After the box is fastened at the top, partially drill the two holes at the bottom of the battery box and attach it to the mounting surface using the appropriate hardware. 7. Attach the door by sliding it down over the hinges. 8. Remove the lockset knockout from the front door and attach the cabinet lock. Figure 1: BATB-40/BATB-80 Battery Box 8 in. (20 cm) 8 in.
