When I cleaned out the home of my late in laws, Grace & Elbert Hubbard there were 3 manual pencil sharpeners. We didn't need any of them because that is all we use in our home.  I have one given to me as a high school graduation gift, another that my husband brought home from his military years in Ethiopia and the 3rd was a gift to our son in elementary school (he does not like pencils any longer - computers are his thing).  I prefer 3H, which drives my husband crazy, he has a hard time reading the light colored writing from the hard lead. He uses (gulp) Sharpies ?. So this is the sharpener El had screwed down to a board that was bolted to his rolltop desk.  El was born and lived in Saginaw, Mich. most of his life.  The sharpener works fine, the only minor defect is part of the handle missing.  This could be cleaned to shine it up, but I consider the patina a big part of the charm of these vintage pieces.  It has taken decades to get this look, anyone can buy new. There are an abundance of pictures from almost every angle, but if you have questions please ask because this is a NO RETURN item. I will understand if your choice is not 3H, but BUY ART!!  Susan
