The adjustable feet also operate freely and quickly level off. The metal tags on the box show the model, serial number, manufacturer, and rental company's name "L-S Tool Supply." The inside of the lid features another metallic sticker showing a sales & rental company "Surveyors Service Co." and their address and phone number from the 1950s. Payment must be made within 5 days after the end of the auction. The equipment includes mounting parts and a plum-bob, and the wood case is sturdy with dove-tailed corners. This vintage BOSTROM Survey TRANSIT #5, Serial #47, from the 1940s to 1950s, is a unique piece of engineering survey equipment history. This Bostrom Convertible Level No. 5 was previously used as a rental from a shop in Southern California. Please ask questions before placing a bid as the leather strap handle for the box is broken off and missing, leaving only attachments on both sides of the box. The lower 48 states shipping cost is $25. The brass shows some scratches, but the lens moves with knob turning and transit swivels on a platform. This heavy piece of equipment weighs about 10 pounds and can be shipped worldwide with adjusted shipping charges.
