This auction is for lot of three Polymer Lapping Disc Tool for Die and Mold Super Finishing. All three tools are 1.8 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick. Shanks of the tools are 1/4 inch in diameter and 2-1/2 inch long. These 3 similar tools remove only a few microns of stock while not changing the working surface geometry. Achieves “mirror-like” finish after very short lapping time (minutes), using existing air tools and die grinders. These tools are designed for finishing a variety of curves, diameters, and cutting edges of dies and molds made of various steels and cast iron alloys, with hardness ranging approximately from 28Rc to 68Rc. The patented polymer lapping process is a rapid surface modification operation that improves the surface finish and the friction performance of treated metallic surfaces, without introducing dimensional changes.
