This is a very powerful and capable multi-device programmer that can program TONS of different components, including common EPROM's, but certainly not limited to just those. This item is TESTED WORKING, FULLY FUNCTIONAL, as follows: I downloaded the software from ftp://ftp.bpmmicro.com/Dnload/bpw_v4730.exe and tried programming an EPROM. It was successful and read back the same checksum after erasing the buffer. I also ran the internal diagnostics and they passed (see picture). This is an older but still very powerful tool, ready to use! Cosmetically there are minor dents, dings, missing screws, and a small chip out of the programming socket, but it is below where you put the chip in and does not appear to affect functionality. There is also a manual available on the BP microsystems website. The online help in the software seems to have alot of info. Also included in this purchase is the parallel port cable I used with the programmer to test its functionality. You will still need a power cord but it uses the very common 3 prong cord used on pretty much any industrial device or desktop PC.
