Purchased and never used 1/2-10 ACME Brass Double Nut with Threaded Mounting Holes. Reduce precision robbing backlash in your 3D printer, CNC router, robot, or linear actuator. An interior compression spring automatically adjusts tension; allowing you to maintain a tight tolerance, even with a worn lead screw. The amount of tension is easily adjusted by changing the spring's compression. All metal construction. Made in the USA. Usage: Coat your lead screw with a thin layer of the lubricant of your choice. Wipe away any excess. Partially thread one half of the nut onto the lead screw. Now, place the tensioning spring in place. Use the second half of the nut to squeeze the spring to your desired tension. The fingers on the two nut halves should interlock. Spin the entire nut assembly, being sure to maintain spring tension, until both halves of the nut are securely threaded onto the lead screw. We recommend running the nut through a 10 minute work-in cycle after instillation.  Part #: BDN-00-08 Thread: ACME 1/2-10 single start Body material: Brass 360 Mounting hole: 6-32 Tapped Distance between mounting holes: 3/4” Width: 1 Length: 1” Height: 1 1/8” to 1 1/2” (based on spring compression)
