Important Note: This is a NPT(National Pipe Thread Taper) fitting and not the dryseal variant NPTF (Dryseal American National Standard Taper Pipe Thread). Both types go by inside diameter rather than outside diameter and will be approximately 1/4" larger than the size stated. For example, a 1/4" NPT fitting is over 1/2" in outside diameter. Both threads are tapered and visually appear to be the same however, there are subtle differences. An NPT fitting requires thread tape/sealant and cannot be used for NPTF applications, as it will likely produce a leak. Need more info?
