Briggs and Stratton cast iron 23FB 8.25 HP. Here is a Briggs and Stratton 8.25 HP (@3200rpm&60degrees), 3” bore, 3.25” stroke, cast iron 23FB engine from an FZZ Hale Fire Pump. Model 23FB Type 203554 Serial 305651 I am NOT selling the frame nor the muffler nor the exhaust pipe nor the bracket that mounts the muffler to the frame, so you will need a pipe to screw into the head. You should be able to make your own muffler with a threaded pipe and a drill, and you will need a gas tank and some straps to have a complete engine. I was told the engine has had the coil replace, but no spark yet. Points and condenser have not been investigated. The 6 qt fuel tank and tank straps have been taken for another project but the rest is present, minus the fire pump and the exhaust system. There is a valve on the intake pipe with “Hale” on the lever, that was used as a part of the priming system for the pump. Priming instructions for the pump are placarded on the engine. Great historic engine project or make $ selling it off as parts. Designed to run 12 hours at a time. This is a beast. Local pick up in Louisville only. Basically free to a good home.
