There are restrictions on the sale of this item, and I will only sell to American citizens living in the US I was told by the government agency where I obtained these that they had been purchased a number of years ago, briefly examined, labeled, then put away. They have never been used in the field. However... In the intervening years, the battery packs have lost their ability to take a charge (Lithium Ion batteries will do that) and new batteries cost approximately $600. Also, every unit, after warm up, flashes the backlights and displays the same error message, to wit: “E 120 Notify by Maintenance”. According to the manual, this means that some internal voltage is too low. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that an internal memory battery had drained over the years, but that is just a guess. There are also some blemishes from handling. One more thing... These units contain radioactive materials, and although they are sealed and safe, they must be shipped as hazardous material. And as long as we're discussing shipping... I'll ship this to a post office with instructions to hold for pickup. The recipient will then have to show a government ID to collect the package.
