From the maker: "Burgon & Ball sheep shears outperform any other in the world. We use a unique high-carbon steel, produced especially for us by British Steel (Corus) and the shears are hot forged and heat treated to give maximum strength and edge retention.The patented double hollow grind gives the finest cutting edge with minimum metal removal requirement when re-sharpening."                                  These are around 12 3/4 inches and have been taped at the handles for comfort. Handles are double pinned. The strap on the sheath has been removed because it gets in the way. Some light rust from storage but it will not hinder function. As you can see in the picture they made a nice clean cut though a piece of copy paper.
