It powers up, and the digital display is bright and clear, and it responds to input from the controls. I was able to get the platform to start moving around, and the speed is adjustable. The set point of the block ranges from -10 to +100°C. It heats up to 100°C just fine, and when I set it to -10°C, I let it run for quite a while, but it never cooled below 0°C. However, this is the extent of my testing of it, and it is being sold as-is. Approximate overall unpacked dimensions: 15"L x 8"W x 7"H. Please ask questions or indicate concerns prior to bidding.
