These seals are made entirely in the United States of America (no poor-quality, foreign-made seals here!). DESCRIPTION OF THE STEEL BAND-and-BALL SEAL: Each security seal is a "one use" seal which snaps (locks) into place and is non-removable without leaving a clear indication of tampering. Seal must be cut off or forcefully twisted off to remove it. Each seal bares the imprint "SEALED" along with a unique eight-digit serial number (the letter "X" followed by SEVEN-numbers). SEAL DIMENSIONS: Each seal measures 8.5" long by 0.31" wide (215.9 mm x 7.874 mm). 100 seals weigh 1 pounds, 3.5 ounces (554 grams); thus, each seal weighs approximately 2/10ths of an ounce. To use this seal, the tail loops around, slides into the head and locks into place. (See the listing's photo mosaic). UNUSUAL FEATURES / NOTES: Each steel band-and-ball seal is different (as it has its own serial number stamped / embossed into it). Because the serial number is physically embossed (e.g. pressed) into the seal, there is no need to worry about the serial number EVER fading or bleaching out. Fading / bleaching can occur when serial numbers are printed or laser-etched onto a seal. Sunlight, wind abrasion, and salt spray (from the road and from the ocean) can quickly wear away serial numbers that are printed or etched. Not with these seals - their serial numbers are deeply embossed directly into the metal.
