In order to purchase the correct size, you will need to accurately measure the inside diameter (ID) of the leg or tubing into which the caster is to be installed. Without the rubber applicator the threaded stem measures 1/2-13 by 2-3/4 inches in length. *Due to the variety of sizes, all Expandable Rubber Stem Applicators must be purchased separately or the casters will be shipped without them. Installing casters with expandable rubber applicators is easy. The stem of the caster measures 1/2-13x2-3/4" threaded. Over this is placed a plastic spacer, a round rubber applicator and a 1/2" ID threaded knurled nut at the top. To install this type of caster, the knurled nut should be tightened until the rubber applicator expands to a point where it can be pushed very snugly up into the leg. With this, grab and twist the dust cap on the caster and twist counter-clockwise. Assuming that the rubber applicator is snug enough in the tube, it should expand further in the tube, until the caster is locked tightly in place. Total Lock Caster: When you step on the locking lever it locks both the swivel from turning and the wheel from spinning. Unlike casters which have just a wheel brake, this mechanism immobilizes the entire caster.
