CD V777-1 Radiation detection kit Victoreen CDV-700 CDV-715 + booklets headphone CD V777-1 RADIATION DETECTION KIT This auction features an original Civil Defense Radiation Detection Kit in the original box. This unit was supplied to a fallout shelter in a Northern Vermont Courthouse and was found in the basement of the Courthouse. Proceeds of the sale will go back to the County coffers. I have supplied many pictures of the units and tried to describe them as best I could. I put batteries (not included) in the units to test them and the CDV-715 tested fine according to its booklet but the CDV-700 did not appear to function properly (I don't know anything else about these units). It could be a problem with the Geiger-Muller tube in the brass probe, the check source on the side of the detector could be depleted or it could be something else? Included in the original box are the following items: 1. CDV-700 Geiger Counter Model No 6B Serial No 8480 (1962 manufacture) The Victoreen Instrument Co Cleveland Ohio _ has some usage wear (scratches and date stamps where it was tested in the past - includes instruction and Maintenance manual - includes yellow vinyl carrying strap and set of headphones 2. CDV-715 Ion Chamber Survey Meter Model No 1A Serial No 361356 (1962 Manufacture) The Victoreen Instrument Co Cleveland Ohio - has some usage wear (less than the CDV-700 above) this united tested out in spec - includes Instruction and maintenance manual - includes yellow vinyl carrying strap 3. CDV-750 Dosimeter Charger Model No 5 Serial No 11450 Jordan Electronics (a division of the Victoreen Instrument Co) - has some usage wear and test date stamps - don't know how to test this unit but appears in good shape - includes folded operating and maintenance instructions 4.
