Item Description: Up for sale is this vintage Cenco Boyle’s Law Apparatus.  This device was designed for precise readings over a wide range of pressure.  This is one of the classical forms of Boyle’s Law apparatuses, which are frequently described in experiment manuals.  It consists of a glass funnel tube and a glass stopcock tube (missing stopper) connected together by a piece of flexible Cenco tubing.  These are mounted on plaques that run parallel to one another on a heavy metal frame.  This allows one of the tubes to raise higher or lower than the other, and then locked in place.  A wooden Meter stick is mounted between the two glass tubes, which allows for the measurement of pressure.  This unit stands tall on a cast iron base.  The apparatus measures approximately 45” tall.  Unit is marked “Cenco,” and “Central Scientific Company, Division of Cenco Instruments Corporation, Made in U.S.A., Catalog No. 76365.” Unit appears to be in great condition for its age, some wear, and the stopper is missing for the stopcock tube.  Glass is not cracked or broken.  Rubber, flexible hose appears to be in good condition, but I have not tested it with liquid inside.  I obtained this (and lots of other scientific equipment I will be posting) from a local school-closing auction.
