This piece was built in Chicago over 100 years ago and remains very sturdy and beautiful. The press looks amazing and could still do the job it was intended for. This piece is quite rare and has been shown to a few antique dealers, store owners and auctioneers who haven't even seen one in person. As this piece was from a local museum who actually used it, included in sale are 5 trays that are filled with the dye presses to make letters, books or whatever literature was needed. The individual pieces sell for a great deal all by themselves. If you wanted to you could sell the individual pieces and keep the press for your own enjoyment, but then again , why break the two up.
