 I bought this cool scale in 1978 when I realized the importance of weighing my tortoises every year, fall and spring, so I could keep better track of their health.  It worked.  This scale was used twice a year to weigh them until about 8 years ago when I bought a digital scale for more accuracy.  Since 1978 it has hung on a hook in our kitchen here on our Southern California beach.  It has not lived outside, or been exposed to the elements.  It moves just as freely as it did the day I bought it at the chandlery next to the dive shop I taught at.  I'm sure it will clean up just as bright and shiny as a brand new one, but the patina is really nice, too.  So rather than take off the patina, I'll let the new owner decide.  It looks as though a scrubby sponge would take everything off of it. New ones cost basically $100 here on eBay, with free shipping, so my price is a deal! We ship in just one business day, Free, and accept returns.  What more could you want??
