ChemGlass 10mm TRU-STIR Stirrer Shaft Tool-Free Coupling The unique design of the Tool-Free Tru-Stir stirrer shaft coupling eliminates the need to use rubber hose or universal adapters to attach your stirrer shafts to overhead stir motors.  Coupling incorporates a unique helical stainless steel spring permitting up to 1/4" of offset misalignment and 45° of angular misalignment.  Coupling is rated for 24 in-lbs of torque without the backlash normally associated with common coil springs. Lower portion of coupling has an anodized aluminum compression nut that secures a 10mm diameter stirrer shaft via a neoprene insert.  This unique design allows a Tool-Free connection between the stirrer shaft & coupling.  Upper adapter is 5/16" diameter, which permits the coupling to be used with a standard Jacobs style 3-jaw chuck.
