This is an automatic watering system for poultry or rabbits. It automatically fills when connected to a garden hose or spigot, comes with 8' of 1/4" poly line with a female garden hose fitting on the end (longer lengths are available, as well as 1/4 poly extension lines). Run a garden hose to the line and this bucket will stay full using a float valve. The water stays inside an enclosed 4 gallon bucket where it stays clean. Chickens will easily learn where to get water, my chickens figured it out within a minute. You will not have to fill or clean water dishes daily with this system, just hang the bucket off the ground to the appropriate height for your birds, run the line to a spigot or garden hose and your done. The poly line has been reinforced on wear areas with larger tubing. The bucket is a clean recycled food grade bucket originally used for frosting, and it may have writing on it. The chicken nipple waterers are easily replaced and are easy to disassemble to clean if needed. This system does not need to be connected to a water source constantly as the bucket is a reserve reservoir that lasts my chickens a week or more between fillings when I am away from a water source (depends on number of chickens and weather). I have watered my chickens in a lot of different ways in the years I have kept them, this is by far the best. I have bought in bulk to get good prices on materials to lower my price on this system. During freezing weather there is no built in system to prevent freezing, and the waterer will not function when frozen. My waterer has went through many freezing and thawing cycles with no ill effect. During cold nights with warmer daytime temperatures I keep water flowing to the bucket as it will thaw and be usable through the day. I am currently testing different ways of keeping the waterer from freezing, but they are expensive. How many birds will one bucket water? There are a lot of variables involved, the most I have had served by one bucket is 50 birds.
