Christian Becker Weight Set Scale weights and box by Christian Becker Inc., New York . This name is printed on the front of the lower portion of the box. The box may be made of mahogany, I’m not sure. The box measures 2-3/4-inches x 4-5/8-inches by 1-1/4-inch tall. There are 7 brass weights as follows: One 50-gram One 20-gram Two 10-gram Two 2-grams One 1-gram The 5 gram weight is missing. There are also nine other very small weights from 500 milligrams down to 2 milligrams; there appear to be made from thin aluminum stamped with the weight of each one. There is a slot in the base of the box for tweezers, but that is missing. A 1/4-inch thick piece of glass holds the smaller weights in place when the box is closed. The box is structurally sound but has a stain on the top – looks like from a coffee cup. On one end of the box there is a latch hook. On the other end there is a piece of metal that may have been part of another latch that is missing. Considering the very small weights, this set of weights must have been for some kind of laboratory scales of great accuracy. A very nice display set. Shipping for this lot will be by Parcel Select or Priority US mail or FedEx Home Delivery or for international mail it can be shipped priority mail or 1st class international mail. Please look at all of the shipping choices before paying - sometimes it is less expensive to ship Priority mail! This item may be picked up and paid for locally to save shipping fees.
