I have a custom designed motorized vertical stage which was designed as an wafer boat elevator for a semiconductor wafer inspection system.  Less than 7 pounds.  High quality 13 TPI ACME screw, 2.5:1 belt drive reduction, and self lubricating nut and recirculating ball bearing guides. Very smooth movement.   Stage has three point leveling screws.  Nippon PJ42B1 6-wire Stepper Motor (Unipolar or Bipolar wiring).  I have tested the stage and it works great.   Approx 4-1/2" vertical travel.  Overall outside dimensions 12.5 x 8.75 x 7.75"
