When you only have one chance to get it right, use this layout tool to plot your cutting paths, hole locations, engraving, etc. A permanent marker is loaded into the adaptor and mounted into a CNC tool holder. Set the height in the same way as any other tool, then run a program to layout the features of the part. The adaptor is designed to allow the marker to slightly extend and retract, in order to maintain contact over uneven surfaces. It also is very useful as a training tool for new programmers. Inexperienced programmers can write a program, then use this layout tool to prove out their programs without the risk of damaging expensive tooling or machines. The adaptor shank outside diameter is 3/4". One Sharpie fine point permanent marker is included.
