Up for auction we have this rather small , unique antique collectible motor that is in a NON-WORKING state ! Please study the photos as they are an important part of the item description ! The label reads as follows...Polar Cub Type G...Ov-Ac or Dc...60 cycles or less...Pat. July 5 1921...other pat. pending...C.Gilbert Co. New Haven Conn.....Made in the U.S.A..I cleaned the motor housing  with a soft brush and soap and water. The motor housing  looks as though it was originally painted a dark green. Part of the original wiring is still present but at some point in time someone added a newer length of plug wire, which I did not  clean and is dirty, I figured that the potential buyer will discard this newer piece of cord. This motor stands 4 inches tall. The base of the motor measures 4 inches in length and 2 3/4 inches in width. The stand alone weight of the motor is 2 lbs.. The motor shaft spins freely and has a small amount of play present. This motor may just need re-wired to be up and running again !! Indeed a great little motor to restore !! Thank you for looking and please visit my other auctions for more interesting items !! Payment is kindly expected within 3 days of the end of the auction. I will combine shipping costs whenever possible ! I mail all of my auctions via USPS Priority Mail unless otherwise mentioned in the item description ! Shipping costs stated in my auctions are for the lower 48 states only !
