It is a complete ruby laser rangefinder transmitter or as a virtual ranging pole for long distance survey reference devices. It is a ONE OF A KIND as rare as it gets item. It is in good and working condition despite it's age. To make it work you need to supply 2x 12V batteries to the unit and erect the unit to vertical then hit the firing button. This laser has an excellent collimator so it can project for extremely long distances. Even the old Hughes ruby rangefinder modules are almost impossible to find now, this unit, especially in the condition it is in, is frankly unique. You can read more about it in RCA Engineer, Volume 22 #6 April/May 1977 issue. The cost of this item new was about 45,000 dollars in 1970's cash! Asking about 2K, or make me a reasonable offer! I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
