These plates also feature a nonbinding surface (NBSв„ў), a Corning proprietary treatment technology used on polystyrene microplates to create a nonionic hydrophilic surface that minimizes molecular interactions. They are perfect for reducing protein and nucleic acid binding at low concentrations, ultimately increasing assay signal to noise. This listing is for Corning 384 Well Black Assay Plates # 3676, a pack of 24 nonsterile plates boasting black polystyrene square wells with round bottoms. With a maximum volume of 50ul and a recommended working volume of 2-20ul, these plates do not come with any lids and are considered "new old stock" in their original opened packaging. According to the manufacturer, these plates have a square well top for easy robotic pipetting, a round bottom for better Z factor and minimized trapped air, and conical wells molded in the shape of a light cone for maximum efficiency. Additionally, the black walls reduce well-to-well crosstalk and autofluorescence during fluorescent assays.
