In addition to excellent material abrasion and a long service life, the discs offer maximum operator safety, protection of natural resources and environmental friendliness. The fiber substrate of the PLANTEX high-tech compound gives it absorbent, spring-like properties that enhance grinding performance. This flexibility provides a greater contact surface area with the work piece (more grit is used) that results in higher material removal. The larger contact surface area also dissipates more heat, making the grinding work cooler – the work piece does not suffer smearing and the abrasive fabric does not burn. Grinding down to the last fraction of an inch; The backing plate used on PLANTEX flap discs reduces in diameter automatically during grinding. It can also be trimmed with cutting tools, a process that is simple and straightforward.
