I purchased this unit in the summer of 08 as back up power for my yard. It was used by my friends(Principal contractors) on the "Galveston Causeway" job. It has basically sat unused at my yard since. I recently changed all the filters and fluids. The alternator, belt tensioner, turbo oil line, water bypass line, and temperature sensor. I removed the original "quiet housing" and scraped the majority of rust from the unit. I then sprayed it with "Oshpo", that's the white oxidation you see in the pictures and then primed many areas with "Rustoleum." I then spray painted the whole unit with Dupli Color DE1617 Ford green ceramic paint. It is currently running flawlessly but like anything will require some maintenance and repair over time do to it's lack of use. House clamps, coolant lines and fuel lines could rust through. It is currently kicking out 480v as it should, but I have no way of load testing it. A support will have to be fabricated for the muffler an a new flex elbow purchased to put it into operation. I welded a base on it to protect from flooding and recently installed fork pockets to facilitate transport. This unit will not win any beauty contests but appears to completely operational. Total weight with a 1/4 tank of diesel is 5100lbs. This unit was rewound in 02/07 at around 3100 hours. The stator, rotor, exciter...were all rebuilt by Cummins(see receipts in photos) and load tested at a cost of over $8000.00. It curently has 3230hrs, so about 130 hrs since a complete rewind. I will not arrange shipping but will assist in all other aspects. I have the ability load and prepare unit for transport an am extremely flexible.
