This is a Lincoln Electric Arc Welder model SAE-500 which has been custom built to fit inside a short bed 3/4 ton truck to be used as a pipeline welder (pipeliner). The machine has been removed from its large heavy steel frame and installed in a more compact/lighter aluminum frame. The front, rear, side doors and top (entire case) are also aluminum. It has a custom built aluminum fuel tank, intake manifold and exhaust to lower the overall case height. The machine can also be used to arc gouge. The welder comes with both 100’ leads, a 100’ 12/4 S/O cord which accommodates the rheostat (voltage-dig) box with an electrical outlet for grinders etc. The welder also has the pol switch for TIG. The case covers have aluminum cable racks fabricated onto the left side panel and aluminum S/O cord and oxygen/acetylene tank rack on the right side. Specs – SAE 500 · Dimensions LxWxH – 74”x29”x38” 42” wide with the cable/S/O Cord and tank rack. About 16” shorter in height and 10” shorter in length as compared to stock. · This machine has the more reliable and powerful 75 HP Perkins diesel engine (no longer available) · Rated 400 AMPS DC/40V 100% duty cycle, 500 AMPS DC/40V 60% duty cycle. · Weight approx. 2000lb · 3000 watts of A/C power for tools. · 2,453 hours.
