The cross slide vise gets its strength from the 30,000 PSI tensile strength, FC25 fine grain cast iron with trapezoidal-thread lead screw construction. Feed screws are precision cut Acme threads. The dials are graduated in 0.001 inch increments for accuracy while the counter-balanced steel ball crank handles easily clear the table for efficiency and simplicity when working. Crank arm spins independently of handle for easy movement. The index collar may be set to zero position independent of handle while the fixed jaw is grooved horizontally and vertically for holding round stock. Lugs in the base are included for mounting to machine table. Handles permit smooth movement and do extend below the base. The cross slide travel is 3-1/2 inches by 4 inches.
