One of the best devices in this series is the 41514 which we recently tried out. Here's what we discovered about its many strengths and very few weaknesses. Let's get started... Features/ Strengths: The 41514 is a cross-cut shredder with a Level 3 security rating. When you shred something, it will be turned into hundreds of pieces that measure just 1/8” x 1-9/16” This is a great shredder to use when you need to shred ATM receipts, checking account statements, and other private documents. The paper can be up to 12” wide. You can also shred credit cards and CD's/DVD's. When you shred paper with this device, you'll be able to shred up to 24 sheets at once. Cross-cut shredders don't typically have the ability to shred a lot of sheets per pass, so the 24-sheet shredding capacity makes this device well worth checking out. You can even leave staples and paper clips attached to the documents. This machine is safe to use and will even make your office a healthier place to be. The CleanTEC air filtration system will keep paper dust out of the air and the shredder can shut down via voice command. The 41514 doesn't use much energy when it's idling thanks to its Smart Power system. This feature can help you save a bit on your electric bill and it helps prevent the device from becoming overworked. The motor is also thermally protected. This device's motor sits in a wooden cabinet that will complement your office's decor. The wood helps muffle the shredder's sounds so your workplace can remain quiet. And you don't really need to worry about maintaining this device because it has an automatic oiler. The 41514's cutting cylinders are incredibly durable (they're made out of solid steel) and backed by a lifetime warranty. Parts and labor are covered for 2 years. All together, this is a great warranty package. Limitations/Weaknesses: The 41514 is designed for departmental use so it's probably too large for small/home offices. It measures 34.5” (height) x 29” (width) x 20” (depth) so it takes up a fair bit of room. The size is mainly due to this device's 38-gallon waste bin. Since this machine has so many great features it's a bit more expensive than comparable cross-cut shredders. Thus, this device might not be the best choice if you're on a tight budget. Recommendation: The 41514 is another great shredder in Dahle's CleanTEC series. This machine's standout feature is the high shredding capacity. It will allow you to quickly and securely get rid of your confidential documents. (And CD's, DVD's, and credit cards.) The air filtration and Smart Power systems are very helpful, as is the automatic oiler. The 41514's durability and warranty coverage make it a smart investment as well. With so many great features, the 41514 is definitely one shredder you should consider getting.
