David White Meridian Transit Level Realist Model 8830 and Case. Essentially New.Technically a used item, but the transit appears to be unused. Serial number 304857 from the sticker. Please view the pictures, they are the best part of the description. The bubble works properly. The plastic case functions well.  The azimuth scale is clean, and the movement is very smooth. The elevation scale is clean, and the movement is smooth. The focus seems to work properly, both at a nearby object and objects far away. The leveling screws on the bottom move smoothly. The elevation locking bar(?) functions, and is stiff because of some original packing grease. I left that smudge of grease in place - more indication that this hasn't seen much use. There are only two items included, the transit assembly and the plastic case. There wasn't anything else in the case. Please ask questions if you have them, I am not very knowledgeable about transits, but this one looks like it is in great shape. Please check out my other items at auction - thank you!
