up for auction is this clutch of (6)DELAWARE CHICKEN HATCHING EGGS. the alc has declared the delaware chicken as no longer critically endangered as of this past fall and has been upgraded to merely threatened in status!! this is due to suburban backyard breeders and large-scale farmers doing thier part as we do to preserve this rare breed. thanks to ebay, we have sold and distributed over 1200 fertile eggs across the nation in the past year,increasing the world population by a full 1/5th,bringing this breed up to a touch over 6000 specimens!! our breeding flock is a mix of north carolina and texas stock from npip certified flocks,to create this fresh,non-inbred bloodline to strengthen the shallow gene pool of this american heritage breed.bred here on long island,these specimens are very cold-tolerant down to -20f! the roosters do not crow as much as other heritage breeds,crowing only once every few hours. this great dual-purpose breed lays large to jumbo light brown eggs every other day.occasionally eggs will be cream or even pink.they are great roasters or fryers when no longer productive,making them a practical and useful resource for your family. our flock lives in our lush,natural long island yard,and is fed laying crumble,veggie/dinner scraps and all the bugs they can eat all day long! our birds do not plod around in mud and feces,like larger-scale flocks do,nor are they ever fed rotten or moldy foodstuffs like many are.see the pics and know the quality of thier lives and beauty of thier chicks! im happy to answer any questions you have!
