You are considering a Delta, Enclosed Base / Stand Assembly for use with Delta 6" or 8" Professional Jointers. This base is believed to be unused, factory second. This is just a guess based on appearance. By e-bays guidelines, we have listed this item as "used" because we do not know it's actual history. However, it does not appear to have been used, but does have minor flaws; minor scratches, dents as well as minor surface rust on bare metal parts, broken screws on access panel, etc. This listing is for one base only, but we currently have 2 of these available (subject to change without notice). One base has a sticker that says "8" Professional Jointer" and the other says 6". The bases are identically built and both of them have the same Cat No. 52-678 on them, so they are probably universal for 6 or 8" jointers. This is an enclosed style base with removable access panel. Each base has a Delta 1-1/2 HP, 3,450 RPM, 120/240 Volt, Single Phase motor mounted in it, with pre-wired on/off switch and 115V plug. The motor has a 5" OD, V-belt pulley on it. We have plugged each unit in and test run the motors. They both seem to run fine with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. We have not tested the motors under working load and each unit is being sold AS IS. The top of the base measures 26-1/2" X 16" and is 24" tall. These are designed for a Delta jointer to bolt directly to it. They have three mounting bolt holes, a rectangular hole for the v-belt drive to come through and a slide chute for the wood shavings to fall through. With a little modification, this base would make a good foundation for several different type "project" machines if you are inclined to building your own machine; belt grinder, sander, saw, etc..
