Up for auction here is a vintage small dial test indicator. I used this over 30 years ago but not being in the engineering trade any longer it is time to make space. This dial test indicator is made by Capstan of Brighton and measures to graduations of 0.001”. One revolution of the needle measures 0.100”. The maximum travel of the plunger is 0.375”. The diameter of the dial face is 1 1/2”. It is in good condition and still works fine. The travel of the plunger is still smooth and the graduation dial needle still turns freely. It is capable of being clamped by using the small knurled screw. At the side on the rear of the clock there is a threaded stud used to mount the clock. This has a knurled nut and spring. The plastic face of the clock has slightly yellowed but has no cracks and is not loose. Also, there is historic etching of an identification number on the back. Unfortunately, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the device due to its age. This is still a very useful or collectable tool.
