The thermometer measures temperature from -50 to 260 degrees C (-58 to 500.8 degrees F), with an accuracy of + or -1 degree C. The thermometer has a 7.25" long stainless steel probe with a diameter of 0.14 inches that is impervious to most chemicals. The probe is attached to the thermometer by a 3-ft. cable. The thermometer memory stores minimum/maximum values and has a temperature alarm that can be programmed to indicate audibly when the temperature exceeds a maximum or minimum value. The alarm sounds for one minute before turning itself off. The unit has a timer that can be set to countdown from up to 99 hours, 59 minutes. An alarm indicates when the timer reaches 0.
