This kit would be great for those beginners of both electronic and soldering while building something useful and having fun. When fully assembled, This 555 signal generator is able to create square waves in different duty cycles patterns from 4%-96% with selectable frequency from 1 to 200kHZ. The 4 jumpers control the frequency range, while the 2 blue precision variable resistors control the frequency and duty cycle. It has 3 pins: positive, ground power supply and output pin, and the output pin is connected to a on board LED, which flashes within 1-100hz frequency range and dims in other high frequency ranges with different duty cycle. As with all 555 chips, the operational power supply voltage are from 5-15 volt.         It's easy to use, convenient and practical for many of your electronic projects. I use these as a 12v DC to 120V AC wave generator for my backup power need and as PWM for my power LED dimmer circuit; It's really tiny and Neat, loving it! Please notice: The duty cycle is from 96%-45% or 4%-65. This depends on which ground you are using; If you use ground as ground, and output as output, then you will get  96%-45%;  If you use output as ground, and ground as output, then you will get 4%-65%;  Some practical usages of this module: [PWM-Pulse Width Modulation] - Can you power a 12v LED light strip with 24v dc power supply? No, It will burn out right away. Don't do it. - How can you power a 12v LED light strip with 24v dc power supply? you can add a high watt rating limiting resistor between them. If the 12v LED strip consumes 1 ampere, then here is the math: 24v-12v/1A=12ohm, and the result is that you need a 12ohm resistor rated at 12watt. This setup is very energy inefficient.  - How can you power a 12v LED light strip with 24v dc power supply using this awesome 555 module? You will need a power transistor (prefer mosfet over NPN); set the duty cycle to 50% (12v/24v=0.5) , connect the output to the transistor, and connect the 24v dc to the light strip through the transistor. Done!! This setup not only is very energy efficient, and it's easy to change the brightness of the LED anytime by simply adjusting the duty cycle.  [High frequency] - How can you deal with rat or mouse problem in your house? You can buy a cat, set traps, drug them, burn your house, and.... - How can you deal with rat or mouse problem in your house with this module? You will need a power transistor and a very loud speaker. set the output frequency to 50k, connect it to the transistor and the loud speaker. Done! -How it works? Humans can't hear beyond 20k frequency sound, while rats could hear from 30-60k. This loud, and invisible ultrasonic sound to human will freak them out, and they will be leaving your house in no time. To test the pain, simply lower the frequency to 10k, and you will go crazy in no time. There are many electronic ultrasonic rat and mouse repellers in the market that use the same principle, but most of them are low power and produce little sound.  [More info] Practical use of this little guy is really unlimited; You can use it to convert DC 12v to AC 120 to power a light bulb; You can use it as a clock signal for your micro-controller. You can use it to build a radio transmitter with frequency up to 600khz. You can.... In short, anyone interested or needed to build some sorts of electronic gadget by themselves, a 555 timer Signal Generator is a more than handy. (Please notice that this tiny guy should be considered a brain to a circuit, and so to do awesome work, you will need more muscle, or in other words, variety of electronic components such as power transistor, capacitor, transformer and etc. For instance, to build a DC 12v to AC 120v inverter, you will least need a power transistor and a 12/120 transformer, and to improve the efficiency and performance of your inverter, more muscle will be needed)                                           Shipping: USPS First Class Mail 3-4 Day delivery estimation Return Policy: Return within 14 days to get a 100% full refund     Thank you for looking!
