Please Note: I will be unable to ship until 28 June. Sorry for the inconvenience. The GK-Plus is a full featured Geiger counter kit - with SD card logging, real time clock, GPS ready, color graphic display, and much more.  The kit uses a ATmega1284P microprocessor with 4x the RAM (128k) that allows plenty of room to support of its many features. This is a well designed kit with many satisfied customers, great documentation and support. Check out the User Guide, Build Instructions, schematic, circuit description, and much more at: http://sites.google.com/site/diygeigercounter/home This kit also includes the display adapter board, level shift board, and remote control.  The Geiger tube, battery, SD card, and optional GPS module are not included. Hardware Features: Quality silk-screened PCB - 5 x 10 cm (2 x 4 inches) and components. ATmega1284P microprocessor is Arduino IDE compatible with headers for all I/O pins. Designed to be expandable and adaptable - the HV circuit is independent of the processor. (this is a good thing!) The 1.8" (128x160) TFT display mounts on an adaptor board that plugs into the main board.  Control buttons and switches, alarm, and IR sensor are on adapter board providing instant gratification. A small level shifter board is also provided that gives you more options for mounting when you build a case. High voltage power supply – fully adjustable from 200 to >1000 volts. (powers a larger variety of GM tubes) Miniature speaker instead of piezo for a classic Geiger counter "click" instead of a dippy "beep". IR sensor on board used by included mini-remote for menu system. LED and speaker indicates activity directly from the GM tube, not from the processor. Capable of displaying high CPM counts (over 1,000,000)  FTDI connector outputs log data to serial port (low cost adapter required for PC connection not included) Built in support for a variety of GPS modules. SD card for data logging to SD card with GPS location if used.   Software Features: Display in CPM and choice of uSv/h, uR/h or mR/h Graph on the main screen shows last 13 minutes of activity and can be set to auto-resize based on peak or avg. New dose type – xBg shows the percent of average background set Status "LEDs" on screen indicate logging, scaler mode on, and alarm on Max CPM, speed and altitude (if GPS used), low battery and other info are shown on the "status line" Bargraph on the bottom of the screen also shows activity and is very responsive 3 choices for color scheme of the main screen selectable in menu An Information screen shows time / date, max CPM, speed and altitude, etc. A Scaler screen shows two scaler periods. The period length for the second scaler is user defined. Serial logging output output options support Radmon.org and Radiation Logger Alarm for high counts with settable threshold triggers off of either CPM or dose Tone Mode - optionally set speaker to produce a tone that varies in pitch with activity. (like a metal detector) Setup Menu - allows you to configure running parameters and features with the mini-remote.  A brief description of the setup menu options are as follows . . . SCREEN ORIENTATION – screen and text adjust for 4 positions – portrait or landscape·  DISPLAY SCHEME – set 1 of 3 predefined "skins". BRIGHTNESS - Adjust the backlight brightness GRAPH SCALE MODE - two "Auto" modes allow the graph to update its range based on the max peak or average. BACKGROUND CPM - the average background rate you enter is used if the DOSE UNIT is set to “xBg”. TIME SETTINGS – set time and date if not using a GPS also Auto DST and various time date, formats and metric or imperial units GPS MODULE – choice of one of the four supported GPS module types (EM-406a/411, U-blox 6, Adafruit MTK3339, SkyTraq ST22) DISP PERIOD, SD CARD LOG PERIOD, SERIAL LOG PERIOD, SCALER PERIOD – settable CPM->(unit), ALARM THRESHOLD, BARGRAPH MAX CPM, TONE SENSITIVITY - settable See the GK-Plus Downloads page for more information in the User Guide andBuild Instructions.
