The board is compatible with surface mount soldering techniques using a soldering iron and fine solder wire, or solder paste and a hot-air rework station, or even with a professional reflow oven. If you haven't had any experience with soldering surface-mount components before, you can find many helpful instructional videos online. Each column of practice zone components is connected to test pads at the bottom of the board, so that you can use a multimeter to check that everything is well connected. The project area of the board will, if soldered correctly, reward you with a spinning display of 15 coloured LEDs! There are 48 components in the project. Once you have finished soldering, simply connect a battery or other DC voltage of between 4V and 12V (not supplied) to the power input pads to launch the rotating light display!
