Portable pocket digital readout. This tool is a Portable Digital Readout with a Neodymium Magnetic Base and touch tip. I have used an existing digital tool and modified it for this use and it works very well. So I thought about making them for other people. Maybe you can use one? I am a sixty year old Machinist and know the value of a tool such as this, none was available so I had to do what I have always done when it comes to special tools, make it.  Only make a few at a time, no production factory here, but they are well modified.  Reads direct and to .0005" or .01 mm accuracy over 1.100" travel. Compact , light weight and works perfectly where there is no digital readout. So you can magnetically attached it to a metal lathe bed for Z axis carriage travel or snap it onto the lathe cross slide base surface for X axis tool movement. For accurate adjustment you don't need to watch the dials anymore. This tool can be used on any ferrous metal surface which is perfect for Metal lathe, Milling Machine or even Drill Press or if you need to see fine movement when assembling machinery. Display automatically shuts off after 5 minutes to save battery life, but turns on again with any movement, digital record is not lost. Alternate between Inches and metric with one button. The tool can be set to zero with a single button as well.  Completely Portable, lightweight, and can be moved from machine to machine easily. Comes with a new battery.
