In the early 1900s, Machinery magazine published a series of “Data Sheets” and “Reference Books” for various industries, containing important and useful formulas and tables of data, and shop kinks and hints. In 1914, Industrial Press consolidated these “Machinery Reference Series” of booklets to create the first edition of Machinery's Handbook, which has remained the world's premier handbook for the metalworking trades for nearly a century. A first editions of Machinery's Handbook -- when they can be found – sell for $200 or more.
